Last Wednesday, Fraunhofer CSE had the honor of hosting a delegation of more than 60 mayors and city councilors from the National League of Cities at our Building Technology Showcase construction site. The tour was one of several organized by the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) as part of the 2012 Congress of Cities and Exposition event, which drew more than 3,000 attendees from across the United States.

Over the course of an hour, our guests were given an opportunity to learn how Fraunhofer CSE is retrofitting a century-old brick warehouse to meet modern efficiency standards without compromising the building’s historic character and to hear how the project is creating both employment and economic opportunities. A building walkthrough gave attendees an additional first-hand look at innovative, energy-saving features donated by our industry partners such as vacuum insulation panels and radiant heating and cooling systems.
